This Sunday, August 16th will be our last service… for now.

We made a lot of food. Some of it was truly special & we spent a few years figuring out what happens when you try to make a kitchen work in a place that wasn’t necessarily built for it.

So we built it.

And we’re proud of what we built.

But the truth is… we don’t have the capacity to keep doing it the way we want to & we’d rather take a break than keep forcing something to become less than what it was.

We don’t know exactly what the Barn Kitchen looks like down the road & we’re ok with that for now.

What we do know is that The Barn isn’t going anywhere.

The tap house will be here, @boonedogpizza, @carmelitas.sisters , @rootboundfoodcart , and @bobselectricfoodtruck will keep you satiated, the beer will be cold, & friends will sit around the fires, connect, laugh too loud, & stay longer than they intended to.

Sisters is a town full of people who show up for one another when it matters most & this last week really showed us how true that is. Thank you to this community for showing up for one another!

We’re grateful beyond words for the many firefighters & personnel whose dedication has helped, & will continue to help protect Sisters during this Akawa Butte Fire & the remaineder of this fire season. Thank you for the long days, long nights, & the incredible work that continues.

Our thoughts are also with our neighbors across Central Oregon who are still facing the impacts of this fire season. To those who have been displaced or suffered loss, we’re holding you close.

As life begins to settle back into a rhythm here in Sisters, our streets are a lot quieter than usual. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing a meal, meeting a friend for a drink, or wandering through our local shops, now is a meaningful time to do it. Every visit helps support the people & small businesses that make this town what it is.

We’ll be here all week, ready to welcome you in.

Yesterday brought incredible progress before the winds picked up, though new challenges emerged for our community just northeast of us here at The Barn. Through it all, the firefighters and crews on the ground continue to give absolutely everything they have to protect homes, people, & the land we all love.

We’re sitting pretty with blue skies overhead here in downtown Sisters, but still we have our neighbors with homes still in evacuation zones & fires at their doorstep.

As we soak in this beautiful summer day, we also want to hold space for those whose days still feel uncertain. Our hearts remain with everyone affected, & our gratitude for the firefighters, emergency personnel, & volunteers only continues to grow.

If you’re looking for a place to gather, share a meal, & support local, we’d love to have you.

Today’s special is a new one from the Barn Kitchen: a @rainshadoworganics Sausage, Pepper & Onion Sandwich with provolone, local greens, & an Italian vinaigrette drizzle, all tucked into a house made Portuguese roll. Come grab one while they last. ❤️

Those celebrations deserve a community that can be fully present, & right now our hearts are with our neighbors, the fire crews, & everyone affected by the fire.

There will be another evening to gather around great art, good music, & each other. Trust us, we truly can’t wait for that day.

We’re 5 days out from The Barn in Sisters first ever tap takeover with @dayonepdx. This is bound to be one of the most exciting events of our summer season!

We’ll be welcoming brewers from across the PNW for a day-long celebration of craft beer, community, & good times. Meet the people behind some of your favorite beers, explore an incredible lineup of taps, & don’t miss our raffles & swag giveaways every 30 minutes from 4-7 PM.

@tinygiantsbrewing will be premiering their Lobster Rolls DDH Hazy IPA that was brewed in collaboration with The Barn in Sisters. Our very own @redbeardsandraybans went to the Tiny Giants facility & brewed this beer alongside owner & head brewer, Steve Beaudoin.

To keep the party rolling, Brent Alan & His Funky Friends will hit the stage at 4 PM with their groove-heavy, dance-inducing funk that’s guaranteed to get the lawn moving.
